The objective of the Green Ferry Vision is to perform a feasibility study for the design, production and operation of an innovative low weight ferry for cars and passengers - a ferry only powered by green electricity stored on batteries on board. The ferry design will be well beyond state-of-the-art when it comes to charging powers and capable operating distance.

This zero emission ferry design aims for coastal routes and inland waterways and hull shape is optimized for low energy consumption and improved speed in confined waters and at restricted depths. The Green Ferry Vision was among the finalists in the Ship Efficiency Awards hosted by Lloyd's Register 2014 and won the award category "Initiative of the year" in 2015.
